How to Record & Load a Flip Video to YouTube
A Flip Video Camera makes it easy for you to record a video and easily to load it to YouTube. This tutorial shows you exactly how to do it.
Supplies Needed:
- Flip Video Camera
- YouTube Account
Step 1: Record Your Video
Turn on the Flip Video by pushing down the switch on the left side of your camera.
You can start recording by touching the red button at the back of your camera. When you’re done recording, press the red button again.
Step 2: Open up the Flip Video Software on Your Computer
Your Flip Video camera will attach directly to your computer. Look at the left side of your Flip and slide the orange textured tab and the USB plug will come out.
Now, you can plug the USB plug into your computer.
Step 3: Use the Software to Load Your Video to YouTube
Once you have your Flip plugged in, the FlipShare software will open automatically. To see the videos that are on your camera, click “Camcorder” on the left side.
Select the video you want to upload by clicking on it and then choose “Share” -> “Online” from the bottom of the screen.
A screen will pop-up, asking you which service you want to share with. Click YouTube. Then click “Next”.
The next screen will prompt you to enter your user name and password. Once you’ve done that, click “Login”.
Choose your privacy settings (public or private) and ensure you agree to the Terms of Use. Click “Share” when you’re done.
You can see the status of your upload in the bottom left of the software screen:
When the video has been uploaded, you’ll see this update:
